About Us
We are a family run farm with a passion for growing Australian Natives and Seasonal Annual blooms. We bought our 40 acre farm in 2014 and we have been busy sourcing, planting, growing and propagating to mindfully and gradually create a botanical paradise to provide shade and habitat for our animals and wildlife, and to encourage even more wildlife and birds to call our farm home. We are definitely not at the finish line and we still have a lot of land to fill with gorgeous natives. We have chosen many natives indigenous to our area and also included natives from around Australia. Our native bird friends and resident bandicoots have become such a special part of our growing farm.
Our name came from the reason we bought our farm. Our daughter Emily developed a passionate interest in Baroque horse breeds so we had the need to increase our property size from our existing 10 acres. A baby Friesian colt and Warlander filly were very soon a part of our family and joined our small herd of ponies and rescue horses. Hence the name Frielander was a mix of these 2 new horse breeds and the reason we bought this farm!
The flower side of things became a focus in 2021 and we now take pride in growing and creating compostable and eco-friendly flower arrangements, bouquets, wreaths and other floral art pieces. We are always chemical free and floral foam free.
We are growing predominantly Australian Natives, with edible and dye producing plants as a secondary focus. Luckily two of our Summer & Autumn favourites Dahlia and Zinnia are both edible and producers of botanical dye! We are also selecting and sourcing some rarer native varieties when possible, so we can support the protection and survival of our exceptional native flora.
In the Summer of 2025/2026 and onwards we will also be opening our farm for selected workshops and other floral farm experiences. We are local to Berwick, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Kooweerup, Bunyip, Garfield, Warragul, Catani and South East Melbourne suburbs.
